The 3CJ2 universal switch disconnector is a multi-purpose switch and meets the requirements of DIN 60694 und IEC 60694. It also conforms to international specifications such as DIN EN 60265 and IEC 60265-1 "High-voltage switches" and IEC 420 " High-voltage alternating current fuse-switch -combinations". In its function as isolator and with its earthing switch it meets the requirements of DIN EN 60129 and IEC 60129. The product is available for 12kV - 36kV and has a rated current of up to 1000A.
The medium-voltage switch-disconnector 3CJ2 is designed according to the clear disconnector principle. Proven hard-gas flat arcing chambers provide a higher switching capacity than that of its competitors. Simple blade contacts and a torsion-bar spring-operated mechanism increase its making capacity and the mechanical endurance. While connecting consumers, making on an existing shortcircuit cannot be excluded. That is why, today, switchdisconnectors generally feature a short-circuit making capacity. In combination with fuses, switch-disconnectors can also be used to break short-circuit currents. The short-circuit current is interrupted by the fuses. Subsequently, the fuses trip the three poles of the switch-disconnector, disconnecting the faulty feeder from the power system.
A welded base frame carries the disconnector arrangement and the flat arcing chambers. Furthermore it contains the spring-operated mechanism (high-speed closing and high-speed opening), or the stored-energy mechanism (storage of high-speed closing/opening, manual tripping and free tripping). Optionally, the switch-disconnector can also be equipped with a make-proof earthing switch or a fuse assembly.
Switch-disconnectors are supplied according to category A (20 breaking operations at rated current). A special version with category B (100 breaking operations at rated current) is possible. The 3CJ2 can be wall-mounted with the isolating contact side upwards or downwards, as well as on the floor or on the ceiling – in inverted position. For wall mounting, the preferred mounting position is with the isolating contact side upwards.
